| A city cannot be considered great if the shopping situation is not great. In terms of this criterion, Turin is perfect because it offers both luxury shopping and fun and eclectic shopping. The luxury stores would be those on via Roma: the boutiques of the biggest names in fashion, the fancy jewelry stores of the city center, the perfume stores, and the sumptuous food and wine stores which feature the best of the regional products (and where a truffle can cost more than a ring). Then there are the fun and eclectic stores in the little alleys of the old historical center, full of cafes, craftsmen, and artists. If you venture out into the side streets of Turin, you’ll come across charming little shops and open markets. And you can’t miss Turin’s exciting flea market – the famous “Balon” is held every Saturday morning and on the second Sunday of the month. And of course you’ll have no trouble finding bookstores, music stores and the like – in conclusion, Turin has a little bit (or as is often the case a lot) of everything and for all budgets as well. |
