Castello di Govone

Originally, the Castello di Govone was a medieval fortress and it is famous because J. J. Rousseau stayed in it in 1730. It became a Savoia possession in 1792.
It was restored by King Carlo Felice, who brought new splendor to the ballroom – with precious frescos – and to the park, and also built the beautiful entrance stairway to the Castle.
