One of the most chic quarters of the city gets its name from this little church, which Carlo Emanuele I had built in 1618 in memory of his wife, Caterina of Austria. Two pieces of Italian trivia – poet Ignazio Isler (who composed in Piedmontese dialect) is buried here, and Pier Giorgio Frassati loved to come to pray here. Every morning and all day Saturday a market is held next to the church. This market, which is actually one of the best in Turin, specializes mainly in clothing. From here you are just a few steps away from the gelateria Testa and the bar L’aperitivo. |
