Carlo Mollino was born on May 6, 1905, and he obtained an architecture degree in 1931. One of his most important constructions of the 1930's was the one he designed for the Equestrian Association of Turin (1935-1939), and which was unfortunately destroyed in 1960. Other important works of his include the sled station and hotel at the Lago Nero in Val di Susa (1948), the RAI auditorium in Turin, the monument “Ai Caduti per la Libertà” (For the Soldiers who Died for Liberty) in the cemetery of Turin (designed together with the sculptor Mastroianni), the design of the Chamber of Commerce (1964), and the Teatro Regio. |
